Enter UM

At the end of May 1997, I success to enter UM, the premier university in Malaysia. I'll study mechanical engineering for 3 years.

Orientation week

Orientation camp like army camp. We must follow every order by senior. Scolded by senior has been normal to us.

Orientation week

During orientation week, we have gone through a lot of activity to understand the campus, meet new friend and registration. Seniors are very fierce, but after that week, they all are very kind and helpful

Perdana Siswa

The building behind me is the place where student organize their activities. All campus societies have their room over here too.

My roomate

I stayed in 10th residential college. Jason is my roomate. He came from Sarawak and now is lawyer.

UM field

Every evening, there are a lot of student excercise and playing game at the field behind me.

Krian ex-classmate

We all came form SMJK Krian and studied at UM. 3 of us who dress like army are PALAPES member.

10th residential college

At that time, 10th rc is the most beautiful residential college in UM. My friend from hometown came and visited me.

97' food stall

This is the first activity I joint when enter UM: PBUM Food stall

10th college Pesta Tang Lung

This is Chinese most important activity at 10th college. I acted as "Hou Yi" hero in the drama performance

All Chinese from 10th college had a photo after performance. We were very excited because the Pesta was very successful.

"Dong Chi"

After the Pesta Tang Lung, all Chinese member were very close and always have gathering. This is "Dong Chi" gathering where we exchanged gift

Genting trip

Beside hang arond UM. We also went out for outing. Sometime watching movie, mamak stall and so on. The picture shows the trip to Genting Highland.

Orchestra Cina

Beside PBUM and college activity, I also joint Chinse Orchestra Cina. The photo shows our performance at a big hall.

During holiday

There was a break before going to second year. PBUM was busy doing preparation to welcome new student. New student will not feel lonely or lost coming to new environment.

This performance was organized by PBUM to welcome new student. The performance was very successful!

Preparation for Food stall

Food stall is the biggest activity for PBUM. The purpose is to raise fund for PBUM. Around 250 people joint this activity, the length of preparation is half year.

Food stall were run during 98' UM convocation. A lot of graduated senior visited our stall. Our stall was considered the biggest stall in convocation.

A lot of seniors were very caring about PBUM activity. During convocation, a lot of senior came back. The picture show all ex-director for food stall from 1993 to 1998

98' Commenwell game

So lucky that commenwell game was organized when I was in KL. The stadium is so huge!

PBUM Exco

At July 1998, I was elected as president of PBUM. My exco member and I went to visit our advisor: Chief Rev Dhammananda from Brickfield Vihara.

Taman Sinar Harapan

99' Buddhist camp

This is one of my most happiest activities I joint. The camp were organized at Fo Kuang temple at Jenjarom.

Celebration

The Buddhist camp are run successful. After the camp, we had a gathering to share our happiness

Girl friend

After letting go all the responsibility only I have time to concerntrate on Love. Introduce to you my girl friend who is my wife now: Yu Swee Peng. We know each other in PBUM.

Falling in love

During my last semester in UM, I have no more commitment for any society. So I can concerntrate on my thesis and girl friend.

Graduation

Time flied too fast! 3 years are too short. I graduated in the year 2000. This is Dewan Tunku Canselor, once was the biggest hall in Malaysia.

Mechanical engineering

After 3 years studied together, we are graduated. After today, we don't know when are we going to meet again.
